The Mathematics Instructional Learning Community (MILC) Project is an alliance among Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) math teachers focusing on:
  • Increasing the pedagogy and content knowledge of math teachers;
  • Integrating technology tools into everyday math instruction; and
  • Developing, implementing and revising units of study.

I have been using this with my 8th graders at SMS. I have found it great because it is ONE sheet of paper for my kiddos to keep up with for the week rather than them flipping back and forth through multiple student pages. My students also like this organizer better than the multiple sheets of paper they had to keep up with during the month of Sept.

I love this! I am currently using a packet that is a work-along for the entire month, but it is a bit overwhelming. I think doing it on a weekly scale will be better. In September I was just struggling, having a handout for this - a handout for that. I felt like I improved drastically for October with the monthly packet. In November I am going to use this weekly packet. Then I will take student feedback to see how to continue the rest of the year. Just keep perfecting ...
