The Mathematics Instructional Learning Community (MILC) Project is an alliance among Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) math teachers focusing on:
  • Increasing the pedagogy and content knowledge of math teachers;
  • Integrating technology tools into everyday math instruction; and
  • Developing, implementing and revising units of study.

Location: Tates Creek		After finding what i, i^2, i^3, ... and seeing that my students were still not quit interpreting the subtleties correctly, I decided to wing modular arithmetic with them and it worked great. Actually seeing iterations visually in a circle seemed to just click for most of them. When they started calculating higher degrees, they found the pattern for themselves and developed the shortcut themselves.
