Mathematics Instructional Learning Community
The Mathematics Instructional Learning Community (MILC) Project is an alliance among Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) math teachers focusing on:
  • Increasing the pedagogy and content knowledge of math teachers;
  • Integrating technology tools into everyday math instruction; and
  • Developing, implementing and revising units of study.

I will be doing a LaTeX demonstration on Tuesday at 7:30 in the morning.

MIC students, Rene Goin, and Dee Dee Hays are coming anyone else is welcome to come.

(LaTeX is a mathematical typesetting program.)

For about 45 minutes and it is going to be a basic introduction. Depends on how experienced you are I guess. I am just introducing an alternative to (the evil) mathtype. I may someday go into PSTricks! What fun...

I would love to attend this, since my memory of LaTeX is over five years old...it was pretty labor-intensive back then, I'm sure it's improved!
How many of you are using Equation Editor in Word? I've found that to be quite powerful for most formatting/symbol needs. I've taught PDs on it in the past, but it's been quite a few years...

I still haven't found the time - my plan is to work on this over Christmas break - if that doesn't happen I probably will not get a chance until summer. Thanks for having this LaTex session - I really want to start using it again.
