I am developing a content management system so that we folks of Fayette County Math can continue on the idea of MILC and extend it to other subjects outside of Algebra I and Geometry. And all with Flash no less.

You can upload to share and download files for your lessons. All digital manipulatives are welcome: CPS, Navigator, PowerPoint, Websites, TI Interactive, etc. Some of these require more than one file, so you will have to Zip them up (highlight the files, right click, send to, compressed folder).

This is still in its infancy stages. Anything you do now might not make it to the final version, but I would love for folks to join and play around so that I might get some unbiased feedback. Thoughts on how to make it user friendly, prettier, or better are expected. Let me know anything you want to cuss or discuss.

Things under development:
1. Search Options
2. Contacting Members
3. Eye-candy

Known issues:
Oddly, things work better in IE. Uploads hang in Firefox.

Great idea...when I opened it up (using IE), the top part of the screen seemed to be cut off...

Once you have signed up...just log in and right click on the grid to bring up options to upload a "New Item."

once uploaded, they are ready to share and you can see what everybody is sharing from the homepage.

I signed up and logged in. Is there any certain type of items we need to share?

I am thinking anything cool that you might have created or found that other teachers could use. Mostly digital manipulatives. It is meant to be like TI Exchange, but it isn't specific to TI products...

Ideas to make things better or more useful are welcome.

I have signed up and would really like to see the two items that are already there but I don't have flash. Where can I get Flash 9?

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

that should get you going...

edit: if you signed up...you have flash 9. when you download the file, it should be a .swf. just right click on that file and open with Internet Explorer or Firefox.

I posted my graphing inequalities instruction sheet on this new site. I didn't know where to put it; it didn't really fit into cps or nav or ....

Could you add a category for open response questions as well?

Ok, i signed up and logged in, but it's kinda confusing to understand what the directions are for what to do next.

Also, i tried to download Aaron's open responses, but I couldn't find it once I downloaded it, maybe because of the format it's in?

Aaron had some issues with his account that are fixed now. I know Ronni's stuff is downloadable though.

I have put up a few directions this evening, but the basic idea is upload and download: login to upload if you have something to share or just click on the grid to download somebody's resources.

thanks again for trying and keep the feedback coming!!!

It would be nice if you could preview before downloading. Or have a place for a good description of what it is....

If previewing is not an option, could there be a place to write a description of what the item is?
Ryan, this is a fantastic idea. I am so glad you are working on it for us. I know it takes a lot of work, and I just wanted to say thanks!!
