I think this is the last year for the MILC grant...and I'm not sure if Natalee is renewing it or not...but I was thinking if we were going to have another grant...

I would love to have some collaboration with our science teachers. I constantly find that when I am teaching slope, the kids are saying "we just did this in science class".
Or I hear from science teachers that the kids can't solve equations...but its at the beginning of the year when we haven't even gotten through chapter 3 yet.

I think we could greatly improve both the math and science curriculum if we could align the two subjects...we could even get info from science teachers on "real life applications" of math concepts.

Science already depends on math so much...it just seems natural that they would go hand in hand.

Any thoughts?

Natalee...need help writing a new grant....

There were a couple of times when I taught science that first year, that I put a couple of lessons together to benefit both my Algebra 1 classes and my Physical Science classes!!! Science is all about real world math including physics, chemisty, biology, genetics...the list goes on and on!!! It would be fun to be a part of a group of math and science teachers working together!!! It can only benefit our students when we tie it all together!!! How cool is that?!?!
