Math Posts: 58  Location: PL Dunbar | I will be presenting at KCTM at HCHS in the fall for UK. Our session times are: Friday, October 19, 11:20 am - 12:15 pm, in room 132 & Saturday, October 20, 8:30 am - 9:25 am, in room 121. I currently work with UK and the AMSP to promote students in appalachian areas of Kentucky and Tennessee to earn college credit through an online MA 109 (College Algebra) course. The course is free to students who participate and all equipment is included. Students take tests and complete homework online. It is an independent study course with a teacher who will answer questions, but there is no lecture involved. My part is to meet with teachers once a week to discuss questions or problems with the program. We use a web system called CENTRA to meet through the internet. Its pretty much like a live video conference! We can talk and listen using a headset, see each other with a web cam, and share internet web pages through the system. Our presentation will be on the online system and how it is used with not only the UK AMSP program but also the state's Math Coaching! Come check it out...its really pretty cool  Sarah Zehnder | ||
