The Mathematics Instructional Learning Community (MILC) Project is an alliance among Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) math teachers focusing on:
  • Increasing the pedagogy and content knowledge of math teachers;
  • Integrating technology tools into everyday math instruction; and
  • Developing, implementing and revising units of study.

I used the Clever Catch in precalculus today as their opener problem - I never thought they would like it as much as they did. The problems were a little easy for them, but it was nice to make them "correctly" say the problem so everyone could understand what they meant. If you haven't used it yet you should, it was fun!!!

i took me forever to get mine blown up. haven't used it yet, but i have talked alot about the poster to my algebra students (who think they will never use adding fractions in the rest of their life)

that way kids can't cross something out they don't agree with.

Should I use this with my alg 1 and 03 geometry classes? it seems like there are more upper level questions than basic for those kids.

Either would be fine. Some of the question they may not know - I guess just have them throw it again - I'm sure they will not mind that.
