The Mathematics Instructional Learning Community (MILC) Project is an alliance among Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) math teachers focusing on:
  • Increasing the pedagogy and content knowledge of math teachers;
  • Integrating technology tools into everyday math instruction; and
  • Developing, implementing and revising units of study.

A pretty cool web site regarding SnowFlakes. It has a primer that talks about why they look like they do and lots of pictures of them. I liked the pictures but it may have some instructional benefit as well...

I have a colored photograph of one of the first snowflakes on that website...it is on an overhead transparency, and it is really beautiful!!! I used it in science last year, and then used it in geometry...but can't remember exactly where-but it was 2nd semester...LOL!!! (old brain!!!) If you would like to borrow it...let me know!!!
