The Mathematics Instructional Learning Community (MILC) Project is an alliance among Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) math teachers focusing on:
  • Increasing the pedagogy and content knowledge of math teachers;
  • Integrating technology tools into everyday math instruction; and
  • Developing, implementing and revising units of study.

I used the Algebra APPS Ch 1 (Number sense-integers, rational, reals) today in Adv Algebra 2. The kids liked it. I had just informed them that acquiring a graphing calculator was a requirement . The intro to the APPS was a nice 'hook'. They especially liked the activity section. I suspect they will start bringing in their POP's tomorrow! Hope everyone had a great start to the school year.

Did you have them play the games? I wondered if students would actually want to play them. The problems were kind of hard and the graphics on the games are so primative that I doubted that kids would really play. I hope I am wrong. Let me know.
