The Mathematics Instructional Learning Community (MILC) Project is an alliance among Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) math teachers focusing on:
  • Increasing the pedagogy and content knowledge of math teachers;
  • Integrating technology tools into everyday math instruction; and
  • Developing, implementing and revising units of study.

Attached are links for the Lesson Planning Document - Topic Planning Document -

1. Identify the standard(s) addressed in the lesson and the aspect of rigor that is the main focus. (rigor is key)
2. Identify key problems you want to highlight based on the standard and identified aspect of rigor.
3. Make note of which problems you want to use for student discussion, and which techniques you will use (aim for 3+ student collaboration opportunities per lesson).
4. Identify any common misconceptions you may want to highlight.
