The Mathematics Instructional Learning Community (MILC) Project is an alliance among Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) math teachers focusing on:
  • Increasing the pedagogy and content knowledge of math teachers;
  • Integrating technology tools into everyday math instruction; and
  • Developing, implementing and revising units of study.

Subject: November Notes for Teachers/ Calendar Math (cheat sheet)

• The Daily Circle is located on pages 57-59 for November.

• Triangular Numbers and the connection with perimeter/area is a great pattern to teach and use.

• Daily Variable uses a scenario starting with a debt. I actually saw Mary Lane at LTMS use this month with great success. The graphing of the Daily Variable was key for great conversations and connections.

Daily Circle is New this month!!!!

We need to dust off our PURPLE teacher guides….. to read about Daily Circle for November in the book!!!!!
