Please keep me informed of the status of this offering. Also, any other info that you have please share with me. Thanks so much. Deedee

Math![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: IAKSS | Couple of thoughts: 1) Would there be any prerequisites? (for example, could freshmen take as an elective? or would this be only for seniors...entry level vs/ last step) 2) Semester or Yearly course (I think yearly?) 3) You should include some of the Numb3rs "stuff". NCTM should be having lessons you could include. 4) You might include stock market? Most students really enjoy and learn. 5) Will fractals and chaos be on the computer (software available?) or making snowflakes, etc. by hand. (both are great...just wondered). 6) With the Sudoku craze kicking off...you might consider including that as well. 7) How are you looking with technology? Your next step might be a column including resources to use? and we could all think of things to include, too. I am so proud of you coming up with this course. You might be starting a trend for other schools as well. Keep us posted on your efforts!!

Math![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Retired FCPS, Current UK and Transy | 1. Prerequisite would be algebra 2. But enough freshmen teachers have expressed interest to consider a lower level for freshmen. 2. Our goal was a semester course for juniors and seniors in conjunction with math act prep to complete a year long math elective credit. It could be a year on its own; there is enough content, but we would have better luck getting students to sign up if it was a semester course. 3. Technology throughout!! 4. Open to any/all suggestions!! Will have syllabus to share soon. ![]()
