Location: LTMS | I used the "box & dot" method with my general seventh graders, and almost every one of them caught on within 15 minutes! (The negatives were still a little tricky, though.) The next day, we used tables, and almost every one of them caught on to that, too!
Most of these students will probably struggle with "traditional" algebra techniques.

| Great strategies! I've also solved equations with pattern blocks and colored counters, but the logistics are very time consuming - so, I like your methods! |
