We used this in my algebra I class today and it went fabulously. It is a system with two inequalities. Before we even graphed we used trial and error to find possible combinations of job hours. Then we graphed the inequalities to find the solution. It really engaged my kids.

This is a good problem - challenging for the kids. They weren't really expecting lines they would have to solve for y. They wanted y = mx + b to be their initial equations.
