At southside I have a notebook computer lab that I can easily use in my classroom. I really want some math software that allows graphing on the computer because I don't have graphing calculators. However, I don't have any experience with math computer programs. So any recomendations or input on what works and what does not would be great. I only teach algebra 1 and basic geometry.

a must have is ti-interactive. not only can you graph but you can animate and do all other kinds of cute stuff.

I like Geometer's Sketchpad. There are many things you can do with algebra as well as geometry.

There are lots of sites on the web that allow graphing of equations if you are looking for something free. I have a couple on my web site. Check out these links:

Does anyone know if TI interactive is sold as a single computer or a site licence?

both.

$64.95 for teacher edition

$700 for 30 user site license

Check with Natalee. We all got it last year as part of MILC. Maybe there is an unused copy somewhere?

One nice thing about the on-line versions...students who don't have graphing calculators to take home can use them. These are just java applets that you can put on your web site, or just direct students to a site that has them (like mine).
