How have you raised your lids so far this year?

Personally, I have been focusing on my organization and the organization of my students. In all of my general and lower level classes I have been giving out unit organizers where they record the activities of each class period. I think that keeping an organized notebook will help a lot of these struggling kids succeed in high school and in there future careers.

kennedy thats a really good idea...I know i had so many problems last year with having my students keep up with his/her notebooks and papers.

I'm having my part 1/2 kids this year keep a binder in the room so that they don't lose stuff when they take it home. I like the idea of the unit organizer though...can you post one on the website here?

Kennedy,

You are such an awesome teacher!! Anytime you can come next door and give me some pointers I appreciate it. We have this new issue at Dunbar with more instructional time being lost through activity period. Any ideas on ways you are going to keep your classes caught up with each other?

For our systems unit, we need to revamp our pre and post test for the unit. We also thought of trying to incorporate some navigator lesson into one of the lessons or the pretest. Maybe in October we can find some time to get together and work on it. Do you have the pre and post test we turned in before that you can e-mail to Stinson and myself?

I will send you and Stinson the post test, I don't know what the pre-test was. I might have it as well, but I will look. Should I make some of the questions multiple choice?

For the systems group, do you want me to find that systems activity with the cheetah and the zebra, to include in out unit. I can get it from Young. We might even have time to ask Reed to put some flash to it.

I think the more techonolgy we have the better. I would love to have the "cheetah" thing to show my class in a flash presentation.
