Now that everyone has had a few days to use their new technology, how is everyone using it? What worked this week? What did not work, if anything?

What great questions! I used mine this week and determined that when using the document camera for more than one class. I should copy the notes so that I have a "clean" sheet for each class to write on "fresh" for each class.

The kids are really excited about the new toys! I haven't had much opportunity to use them yet (been giving exams and learning checks). Although it was great to be able to project the learning checks to talk about them.
I plan to use the Elmo this week while teaching solving systems by graphing. It will be nice to be able to project the whole calculator so they could see what buttons I'm pushing!! Can I borrow a class set of calculators from someone???

It may be a good idea to put a piece of whiteboard below the document camera to give you a surface that you can write on and center your camera. I know Steve has already been doing this. Way to go team!

Great idea.
Has anyone had difficulties with zooming in and keeping it focused. I find it difficult to stay in focus? (maybe it's just my eyes)

I have had the same problems and have put a thread in the help section.

The small Vis a Vis colored pens work great to display colors.

The kids sounded nervous when I said I could pre-record their lesson for them if I ever have to have a substitute.

I would like to know when someone does this and how it works. I believe Bryson said he was going to try this when he goes for the navagator training.
